Pharmakologie des Innenohres

Wir entwickeln und untersuchen Strategien zur Pharmakotherapie des Innenohres, um vor Hörschäden zu schützen und Hörverlust zu therapieren. Auch die Optimierung von Cochlea-Implantaten (CI) durch wirkstoffbasierte Reduktion von Immunreaktionen, Schutz des Restgehörs sowie des Hörnervs werden von uns adressiert. Neben der Entwicklung und Erprobung geeigneter Drug-Delivery-Systeme identifizieren wir relevante Wirkstoffe, erfassen deren organ- und applikationssystemspezifische Kinetiken und untersuchen die biologischen Effekte. Unsere Methodik umfasst die gesamte Bandbreite von in-vitro Zellkultur- und Explantatstudien über in-vivo Forschung bis hin zur Durchführung klinischer Studien.
