- Research Goals
The goal of the NIFE research program is to develop biological, biofunctionalized, and infection-resistant implants to reconstruct and restore failed organ function in the cardiovascular, audio-neurological, musculoskeletal, and dental areas.
Following the goal of transdisciplinarity and sustainability, the initially 36 groups with about 400 scientists will work in the four research areas that are methodically closely linked. For these foci, the core facilities Biomaterial Development and Biomaterial Testing will be research overlapping.
