NIFE's research program aims to develop biological, biofunctionalized and infection-resistant implants for the reconstruction and functional restoration of failed organ functions in the cardiovascular, audio-neurological, musculoskeletal and dental fields.
Following the goals of transdisciplinarity and sustainability, the initial 42 groups with about 400 scientists will work in the four focal areas, which show methodologically close links. The Core Facilities Biomaterial Development and Biomaterial Testing form the research-active bracket for these focus areas.
