ROSSMANN and Braukmann-Wittenberg-Herz-Stiftung finance surgical robot at MHH

Major donations from the Braukmann-Wittenberg Foundation and Dirk Rossmann have made it possible to purchase a state-of-the-art DaVinci SP robot for the HTTG. We are the only thoracic surgery department in Germany to date to have 24/7 access to this system, which enables complex robotic procedures to be performed via a single access point. This opens up new research projects for the NIFE and the thoracic surgery research group based there. These will include the further development of optical procedures such as real-time near-infrared spectroscopy and links with ongoing projects on intrathoracic oncological therapy.
