Neural implants

We develop neuroelectrodes that enable medically safe, high-resolution electrophysiological measurement and stimulation of neuronal activity in the central nervous system. One focus is the further development of electrode technology for use as a neuroelectrical interface, e.g. for adaptive deep brain stimulation, DBS) or central hearing prostheses. For this purpose, we apply different behavioral paradigms. In addition, we are investigating approaches for the prevention and treatment of implant infections.
