Ex-vivo Organperfusionssysteme dienen zur besseren Evaluierung und Minimierung des Ischämie-Reperfusionsschadens von Spenderorganen. Neben einer zunehmenden Rolle bei der Organtransplantation wurde die ex-vivo Organperfusion auch als nützliches Instrument für die ex-vivo Therapie anerkannt. Hierbei handelt es sich um höchst innovative Strategien, im Sinne von regenerativen, immunologischen, zellbasierten, pharmakologischen, sowie anti-tumorösen und anti-infektiösen Therapieansätzen für die verschiedenen, ex-vivo perfundierbaren Organe / Extremitäten im Rahmen autologer Replantationen als auch allogener und xenogener Transplantationen, an deren Entwicklung und Etablierung diese Arbeitsgruppe arbeitet.
